Work Experience

I have held a number of positions in the business world. Assistant Chief Internal Auditor, Director of Internal Auditing, Controller, Director of Patient Financial Services, Director of Information Systems, Director of Patient Access, Director of Business Office, Owner of CPA firm, & Public Accountant & Auditor, Controller/CFO of a Critical Access Hospital.

Assistant Chief Internal Auditor:

I functioned as an Assistant Chief Internal Auditor in a 500 bed acute care hospital and university. Accomplishments - 1) Installed a cash pool management system that connected over 20 checking accounts and generated $600,000 per year in additional investment earnings. 2) Worked as a project manager of new general ledger conversion process. 3) Uncovered gross error in installation of payroll system that saved $250,000 in IRS payroll taxes.

Controller:

I worked as a Controller in a rotary tiller and fruit processing manufacturing plant and for an automotive finance company. Accomplishments - 1) Installed a computerized accounting and manufacturing system in the Manufacturing company. 2) Installed a computerized accounting system in the Automobile Finance company.

Owner of CPA Firm:

I bought a $25,000 tax practice with two other individuals and increased it to a $250,000 accounting and tax practice within two years. Unfortunately, both my son & I were allergic to the smog of Southern California. I had to sell and we moved to Washington State.

Public Accountant & Auditor:

I have practiced about 12 years in public accounting auditing a number of different companies plus doing hundreds of personal and business tax returns.
